I recently attended a workshop by one of the top high school senior portrait photographers in our industry (Amanda Holloway). One of the biggest things I took away from this training was seeing the positive impact professional hair and makeup had on our models for their photo shoot (the models by the way were just normal everyday high school aged girls). So of course once I returned home, like any other photographer in my shoes, I wanted to see how this would go over in our area. I put out a model call for 3 high school aged girls to come to Halo Salon in Laporte for an afternoon and to let the stylists Shyanne Bauman and Cherish Smith work their magic and then afterwards spend a few moments allowing me to capture some images of them.
